CREE Helps Aeon Lighting Technology Capture LED Lighting Market 2021-01-21
Taiwan-based high-power LED lighting product manufacturer Aeon Lighting Technology (ALT) recently announced an agreement reached with CREE, the U.S. semiconductor company, in May. Under the agreement, CREE will prioritize the supply of its latest MT-G LED chips to Aeon Lighting Technology, helping the company secure a leading position in the market.
The MT-G LED chip, released by CREE in February 2011, is the brightest LED chip produced by the company to date, with a luminous efficiency of over 80 lm/w. It gained immediate popularity upon its launch. In March 2011, Aeon Lighting Technology introduced its first MR16 LED bulb using the CREE MT-G chip, achieving a luminous flux of 620 lm with natural white light. Due to its high lumen output, this product can directly replace existing 50W halogen bulbs.
Aeon Lighting Technology stated: "We are committed to providing the highest quality and safest lighting products to the market. We are especially grateful for CREE's strong support in prioritizing the popular MT-G chip products for Aeon Lighting Technology and helping us quickly enter mass production. This flexible supply-demand strategy not only ensures Aeon Lighting Technology's leadership position but also increases the market share of CREE MT-G chips, creating a mutually beneficial market advantage."
In June, Aeon Lighting Technology's sales began to grow significantly, receiving large orders from Australia, Germany, and the United States.
With the European Union planning to permanently ban the sale of incandescent and halogen bulbs in 2012, the market anticipates a significant increase in demand for LED bulbs. Therefore, companies with better research and development capabilities will have a greater opportunity to collaborate with leading LED chip suppliers.
